Peter Rabbit
The Peter Rabbit Classics Club (Hall of Fame - 75 books) features picture books that no child should miss. These classic picture books have stood the test of time and place. Most have endured for thirty or more years and are popular in many countries. This club is for beginning and established readers and includes titles such as Harold and the Purple Crayon, The Five Chinese Brothers, Marshmallow, The Tale of Peter Rabbit, and Where the Wild Things Are.
Students write down the books they read on the BLUE Peter Rabbit reading logs which are available in the Library. Kindergarten, first, and second graders test after each 10 books. Third, fourth, and fifth graders test after each 25 books. The tester asks questions about two books from the student’s list. Questions are simple, so a student who has read the books will pass. Students get a small prize in front of their class on their library day after the completion of each list.
Peter Rabbit books are located in the Easy section of the Library. They have a BLUE sticker with Peter Rabbit on it. Some of these books are also Caldecott or Newbery books. Students may include those books on both book club lists.
