Classics

This Classics Club (Hall of Fame - 15 books) encourages students to read classic children’s literature. These books have been in print for at least fifty years and are translated into other languages. Examples of classic books include Heidi, Charlotte’s Web, The Hobbit, The Secret Garden, Treasure Island, and The Little Prince.

Students in this club may read any of the books on our Classics Club list. The list of books each student has read is kept on file in the Library. Testing occurs after each book is read. The student is asked two or three questions about the book. Questions are simple, so a student who has read the book will pass. Students receive a small prize and are recognized in front of their class after every block of three books.

Classics Club books are throughout the Fiction section of the Library. They have with a PURPLE CLASSIC sticker.
